Carol and Phil would like to welcome you to Mowbray House a small family run Guest House, which has a 3 star Visit Britain rating.We are situated about a 10 minute walk from the City Centre and about a 20 minute walk from York Station.Our aim is to provide you with a comfortable base from which to explore York. Our rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, cleanliness is our priority, they are all en-suite and have tea and coffee making facilities, digital LCD colour flat screen tv's with freeview, hairdryers, shower gel, towels, iron and ironing board and radio alarms.You have your own keys to come and go as you please, but please could we ask you to be quiet if coming in late. A full English Breakfast is included, which is served between 8am and 9am (can be a little earlier if needed, by arrangement) most diets can be catered for all that we ask is for a little prior notice.We have a totally NON-SMOKING policy throughout, if we suspect you have ignored this you will be charged in full for your entire stay and asked to leave immediately.We have FREE off street CAR PARKING, payphone and FREE WI-FIPlease note -We do not accept all single sex groups.We do not accept creditdebit cards, payment on arrival is by cash only

Directions

On approaching York avoid the City Centre by taking the A1237 The outer ring road to the North of the City. Leave at the roundabout with the B1363 following signs to the City Centre and York Hospital. You will pass the Hospital on your right. After the Hospital turn sharp left at the traffic lights into Haxby Road. Mowbray House is approximately 75 metres on the right.If you are coming by car from the City proceed out of York along Gillygate, through the traffic lights along Clarence Street at the next lights take the right fork and go over into Haxby Road we are approximately 75 metres on the right.If arriving by Train the easiest way would be by Taxi but buses leave York Station regularly Numbers 1 and 5 will bring you along Haxby Road, ask for Clarence Gardens which is just past Mowbray House.
