We're a small, but perfectly formed, townhouse hotel with an enviable position right in the heart of the City of York.Our Grade I listed Georgian building has seen many changes through the years, and as you'll have guessed by the name, was the official residence for the Assize Court judges for over 170 years - in fact until 1976, when it evolved into a commercial hotel. Despite our long and esteemed tradition in hospitality, you'll find we're anything but stuck in the last century. Directions

By Road: Click on the highlighted square area of the map for more detailed directions of the road system as you approach York. Entry to the Judges Lodgings is via Blake Street and St Helens Square. For drivers this requires careful negotiating as this area is a pedestrian precinct like most of the centre of old York. Guests of the Judges Lodgings have been granted specialpermission to enter these streets, provided they follow the route indicated on this map. Once you reach Lendal you will see the trees in our forecourt to your right. Please drive in to unload luggage and passengers, we can then direct you to one of the adjacent public car parks. From York Station:A pleasant 5 minute walk: Turn left out of the station towards the Minster. Cross the river via Lendal Bridge. At the Museum Gardens turn right into Lendal. Judges Lodgings is 50 yards on the left. Alternatively, take one of the readily available taxis for a two minute journey. By Rail:York Station - excellent and fast train service from Kings Cross station, London (1 hour 50 minutes), Edinburgh (2 hours 30 minutes) and most parts of Britain.
