The Heworth Guest has undergone a recent major refurbishment. All the bedrooms are now fully en-suite. Rooms 1 and 3 have king-size beds and a larger than normal shower within the bathroom. Free WiFi is available throughout as well as all the bedrooms being hardwired for internet access. All the bedrooms have wall mounted flat screen Tv. There is a guests sitting room with access 247. We are not located in the very centre of the City but we are in a lovely conservation suburb of York called Heworth which is situated 0.9 of a mile to the very centre of York which is Parliament Street. There are a choice of local eating places if you did not want to go back into York centre. During the evening you could take a ghost walk around the city, a stroll down the Shambles, Stonegate or a cruise on the Ouse. Pre-booking the Jorvik Centre can be made by calling them. York Castle Museum and York Minster are two top attractions. This York BandB is ideally situated for day trips to the Yorkshire Moors, Dales and the coast. Castle Howard is only 14 miles out of York. Just a little further is Pickering where you will find The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, an 18 mile journey on a steam train through beautiful Yorkshire countryside finishing at the historic coastal town of Whitby.Mousey Thompson the furniture makers can be seen in the Thirsk area (Kilburn). Directions

A64 - Road: From A1 or M1 take A64 towards York, stay on the A64 ring-road to the East side of the city and take the A1079 into York. You are aiming now for York Centre, go past the BandQ warehouse (on your right), straight on at the roundabout, go past a pub on your left call the Black Bull, go straight through the traffic lights, at the next lights where there is a Shell Fuel station turn right into Melrosegate, proceed approx 1 mile to the next proper traffic lights, turn left, we are 100m along on the left.
