Harmony House is a small family run bed and breakfast. It is 6 miles to theSouth of York set in the quiet village of Stillingfleet overlooking theGreen. Harmony House dating back to the 18th Century has beensympathetically modernized retaining many of the characteristics of logfires, open beams and an inglenook fireplace. All rooms have en suites withpower showers, also hot and cold drinks, mini fridges, homemade biscuits orcakes, Wi-Fi, flat screen TV's , free view and desks.Harmony House has been awarded a 4 star silver award with breakfast award byQuality in Tourism and use locally sourced ingredients as far as possible.There are lighter alternatives such as smoked salmon and scrambled eggs,croissant with mushrooms, bacon and brie, omelettes', poached eggs andsmoked haddock. It is also a cookery school run by Hilary Finney whotrained at the Cordon Bleu School of Cookery in London There is a comfortable lounge for those wishing to relax after a long daysight- seeing or at the office, and snacks or light meals with a glass ofwine are available. Guests can also relax outside watching the wildlife onthe Green. There are a variety of places to eat ranging from Thai, Indian,Italian or pub food nearby, but nothing in the village itself. We may beable to provide meals or snacks Mon-Thurs, but they must be booked inadvance There are golf courses, fishing ponds, riding schools and the trans Pennine65 cycle track nearby together with many country side walks. It is near toNaburn Lock Caravan Site, Naburn Marina, Elvington Airfield, Sherburn AeroClub, Cawood, Escrick Park and Queen Margaret's school, York race course,Selby and all major trunk roads. M1. M62 and A1. It is an ideal stopoverfor those travelling from the South before entering York, and is near toYork University. There is ample parking at the front and a secure storagefor motor bikes.

Directions

Coming from York or the North. Take the B1222 from the A19 south of York towards Naburn. After passing through Naburn you will reach Stillingfleet. After passing the Church take the right hand turn before the bridge signposted to Lodge Nurseries called The Green. Harmony House is the 2nd property on the right. Park on the gravel on the left opposite Harmony house. There are no guest house signs outside inkeeping with the village, but we ahve a white old fashioned gas lamp in the front garden and harmony House sign is on the wall to the right of the stepsIf you are coming from the south turn into the village at the Cross Keys onto church Hill. Go across the bridge ignoring the greens at the bottom of the hill. Turn left immediately after the bridge opposite the lytch gate of the church on to the green sinpgnposted to lodge nurseries. Park on the left where there is gravel parking and we are on the right hand side just after the public footpath
